From December 2015 to February 2020, each one of my “Paint-a-Thon”s took place in public settings, with the first one ever being at The Mix. I came to develop a monthly residency of sorts just outside Indrani’s of Brunswick, which I knew would eventually be changing due to an upcoming major reconstruction project at the Tontine Mall…but I never would have guessed what would actually be the catalyst for evolution.
In March 2020, Covid lockdowns caused me to pivot. I didn’t want to stop doing what I was doing, so I set up in my garage and had my “Paint-a-Thon”s there for the next thirteen months. May 2021 brought another change: a used maple sugar house became my outdoor art space, and my monthly “Paint-a-Thon”s have taken place in the Sugar Shack Studio ever since.
